| Display
Format and Range The user alters the display from full to split screen
format for presentations of depth chart and navigational position/speed data. The display
range is manually set to one of ten preset ranges, or is operated in automatic mode.
Digitized Depth
Digitized depth is displayed on the backlit graphical LCD display in boldfaced, 20mm
high digits, and on the RD-10 Remote Display in 30 mm high LED digits.
Alarm Status
Programmable shallow and deep-water alarms include visual and audio indications, as
well as a lost bottom warning.
Receiver Gain
Users control receiver gain manually or select automatic receiver gain control. The
interference rejection feature allows the user to remove spurious acoustic noise from the
graphical LCD chart representation. |
Time and Date Depth
chart data are date/time-tagged and presented on the graphical LCD display, or stored
within the non-volatile data logger. This is performed using input from the NMEA 0183
interface, if available, or manually via the input keypad.
Draft / Offset Adjustment
Offsets for draft and transducer depth below the surface are programmable. These
adjustments are applied to the processed digital depth output. The system displays and
outputs depth measurements beneath the transducer, surface and keel.
Transducer Selection
Users select, at installation, from one of fourteen selectable frequencies.
Navigation Data Interface
The echo sounder supplies vessel position, course, and speed data when interfaced to a
NMEA 0183-compatible position sensor or to a Military GPS sensor. It decodes and processes
numerous NMEA 0183-formatted sentence types. |
Chart Speed
and Event Mark The graphical LCD display operates in one of eight
manually selected chart speeds, or in automatic mode. The user activates an event mark
annotation for the LCD display - the annotation includes time, date, depth, and position
data. This information is also appended to the internal data logger.
Units
The instrument operates in units of feet, meters, and fathoms.
Data Logger Memory
Allows user to recall and/or print logged depth graph data from the last one hour of
operation, or recall and/or print log of ship's position, depth, and events from the last
24 hours. The user may recall or print all of the logged data, or just selected segments.
Self-Test
The unit performs self-test upon command and localizes faults to a replaceable
sub-assembly. |
